Culture Secretary and our MP, Lucy Frazer, has been pressing for better connectivity in South East Cambridgeshire since even before she was elected to represent our constituency and, in the years following, she has repeatedly supported Cambridgeshire to be first in the queue for any rollout.
She was therefore most pleased to join CityFibre in Fen Ditton, where works have begun to install lightning-fast broadband as part of the first tranche of the Government’s £5 billion ‘Project Gigabit’ scheme.
As the Government’s chosen delivery partner, CityFibre will be implementing future-proof connectivity for approximately 45,000 homes in Cambridgeshire over the next few years, to the tune of £69 million. Milton and Landbeach are amongst the next villages to benefit.
These works are critical for constituents who rely on the Internet for their daily activities as much for businesses who rely on good connection for high productivity.
