Sir Jim has said that he is delighted that South Cambridgeshire District Council have refused an application to convert the Pear Tree Inn in Hildersham into a 4 bedroom house. 

Sir Jim has been supporting Hildersham residents in their campaign to save the Pear Tree Inn which is the only pub in the village. The Pear Tree was designated as a ‘Asset of Community Value’ in 2013 which Sir Jim has argued should be given significant weight in any decision about its future.

Following the decision by the Council, Sir Jim said:

"I am delighted that the Council have agreed with me that the Pear Tree Inn is an important community facility which should be retained. This is great news for my constituents in Hildersham."
