“Clean for The Queen” brings together all of the anti-litter organisations from the UK and aims to get people involved in Britain’s largest litter pick. Community groups including parish councils, residents’ associations, and local schools and businesses are encouraged to organise their own litter pick or clean up in the coming weeks, or over the “Clean for The Queen” weekend, which is 4th-6th March.
Lucy says: “This is a great opportunity to make sure we get South East Cambridgeshire neat and tidy in time for the Queen’s official 90th birthday on 21st April. Although the official ‘Clean for the Queen’ weekend is in March, people can get involved whenever they like. There are already several litter picks set up over the coming weeks in the constituency. I will be joining two of those – one in Histon and one along the A1304. I hope that more people in South East Cambridgeshire will consider getting involved to clean up our communities and help mark this momentous occasion.”
