The Chairman of East Cambridgeshire District Council, Cllr Michael Allan and Derek Bristow, Chief Executive of The Federation of Merchant Mariners raised the Red Ensign to commemorate the service and sacrifice the Merchant Navy provided for the nation during the last two World Wars.

The ceremony took place at the Councils’ District Offices in Ely on Thursday 1st of September 2016.
